"Sir!"

The Judge stood right there, outside the door, waiting for the recognition of his Superior. He did not waver, nor dreaded the long silence that greeted him. After all, the Judge had entered the room without permission, as it had been said none was supposed to disturb the Grand Judge until he had given an order saying the opposite. Had the man not been recognized as a Judge, he would've already been punished by the two ethereal beings that stood by the floating chair of the Grand Judge.

Abraal stood there, in that great room decorated with grand chandeliers, statues representing the Four Godly Elements, rich tapestries hanging from the walls and covering the floor. You could easily guess that it belonged to someone of great wealth, although that would be obvious just by looking to the Palace where it had been built, which was settled right in the middle of Thasxia.

The Grand Judge was looking at his city through a huge glass wall divided by four pillars. He stood to the one at the left, just watching, although his eyes were covered by his huge pristine helmet. It took him ten minutes to speak, not because he was senile of some sort, but because he was pondering about recent events. However, when his jaws became apart, the voice that came from it was cold and ancient. It seemed like a whisper, yet it scratched the ears like piercing claws.

- For breaking inside the Grand Judge's chamber like you did, you shall suffer a penalty depending on what motivated you to be so foolhardy. You have five minutes.

The Judge seemed shake a bit; he probably had not expected such a harsh reception. That was ridiculous, since he the order not to enter had been as clear as water. He cleared his voice, clearly thinking the time limit he had been given was not as literal as it seemed; another fool assumption.

"Sir, we have received news from the Judges of the Ivory Towers. The Gods of Wind are displeased with the total lack of action in Mendar, they order an immediate massacre of the Summoners that hide in our nation, declaring that the total number of killings seems to reveal lack of interest from you. They suggested that Mendar might be considering treason, and..."

- That's enough.

The man shivered, sweating under his heavy armor. Bringing bad news under such foul conditions had not been intelligent at all. No, actually he was now under the impression that he had made a big, greedy mistake. Abraal thought so too.

- What you have come to tell me is far from compensating what you have done. It was foolhardy, unthought of, and the information you have brought was just repeating what had been said before. Therefore, you shall be sent to the Frontiers for five years, and, hopefully, you will have time to think of your mistake there. Begone.

The man bowed to the Grand Judge. Curiously, he had been able to restraint his will to say something else. Abraal went to the entrance, where two Judges stood, and told them:

- Make sure no-one else enters. If they do, both of you shall be punished for it.

Both men sir'ed him, as he re-entered his room. The two spirits silently greeted him as Abraal returned to the window, to his thoughts.

The Gods must be obeyed, of course, and he was doing things as they had ordered him, they simply did not know it yet, as he had not reported. At that moment, information on possible Summoner hideouts was being gathered, and of those, only a few where actually being hunted down, one or two at most, just to give the impression that the Judges were lost on what to do. Soon, Summoners and Mages would be swept of Mendar by blade and fire. He would oblige to the will of the Godly ones, and would be rewarded beyond measure once more. Then, war would certainly be wagged so as to make sure no one would stand to oppose the true lords of Kimahra.

Yes, Abraal had plans. Once more, the Judges would scour the lands, and no magical entity would be safe from their might. And then, as they conquered the lands, Abraal would stand there, above them all, as the future lord of a new order in Kimahra.
